POWERGRID’s former CMD Ravi P Singh appointed as CEO of PSSC

New Delhi: Ravi P Singh, former Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) and Director (Personnel) of PowerGrid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Power Sector Skill Council (PSSC). Singh is an Engineering graduate (Mechanical Engineering) from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Allahabad. He also holds a post-graduate diploma in HR from AIMA (All India Management Association), New Delhi. He is a highly decorated global business leader with nearly 40 years of professional experience in the power sector, handling various multi-disciplinary functions like HR, Telecom, Contracts, Materials, Planning, Monitoring and Transmission System construction and O&M. He started his carrier as a Graduate Engineer Trainee in NTPC Limited and worked there in various technical departments for 10 years.

He also has held the position of Vice President of Power HR Forum, which is a leading forum of HR Fraternity in the Indian Power Sector focusing to collaborate, highlight, brainstorm and resolve macro-level sectorial issues of common concern amongst power utilities.

Power Sector Skill Council (PSSC)

Power Sector Skill Council (PSSC) is a Society with the objective of facilitating skill development activities, including capacity building for training delivery to meet the needs of the Power Industry, that consist of the Conventional Power Sector (Generation, Transmission, and Distribution), Renewable Energy and Power Equipment Manufacturing Sector. The council has been promoted by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Ministry of Power, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers Association. Other key stakeholders in the sector are the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
