Power Grid wins SHRM HR Excellence Award at the SHRMI20

New Delhi: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (Power Grid), a Maharatna PSU has won the SHRM HR Excellence Award at the SHRMI20 India Annual & Tech Conference – a virtual conference hosted by SHRM India, the world's largest HR professional society. This is the first award that SHRM body has awarded to any PSU in India. Power Grid won the award after competing with almost a dozen PSU organisations and more than 360 organisations participating in the overall awards process.

The winners were announced during the SHRMI20 India Annual & Tech Conference- a virtual conference hosted by SHRM India, the world's largest HR professional society. SHRM India recognised organisations for their best practices under the 9 categories with one of the categories around Excellence in Learning & Development. 

The award is given to Power Grid recognising its ability to demonstrate success in learning initiatives that include training, development and knowledge management. Learning includes the acquisition of knowledge (tacit & explicit), skills, behaviors or competencies which are critical for organisational success.

The award has been presented to Power Grid's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) K Sreekant and Director (Personnel) VK Singh in person at Power Grid's corporate office.

The SHRM HR Excellence Awards have been instituted as an exemplary platform to recognise organisations that put people first, deliver future-focused excellence in the field of people management and understand the importance of human capital as a key contributor to business outcomes.
