NTPC organise vendors meet reinforcing reduction of imports and focus on Aatmanirbhar Bharat

Through this vendors meet, NTPC aims to seek feedback from the vendors and plans to consider their opinions to improve the company’s system

New Delhi: NTPC Limited, India's largest power producer, organised vendors meet on a digital platform reinforcing reduction of imports and to focus on Atmanirbhar Bharat. NTPC's Executive Director (Corporate Contracts & Materials) Ashok Kumar Juneja inaugurated the meet and emphasised that imports need to be reduced to make 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' a success. He also stated that NTPC will encourage and support its vendors for indigenous manufacturing.

NTPC's Executive Director (OS) D Sarkar, Executive Director (OS-Boiler) Awadhesh Kumar, Chief General Manager (CS & CPC) SM Gokhale, General Manager (CPC) KL Mahobe, General Manager (C&M) Shoba Pattabhiraman were also present and addressed the vendors on the occasion.

During the meet, the significant role of NTPC's partners i.e. vendors, contractors and suppliers, who helped NTPC in providing uninterrupted power supply even during the pandemic was appreciated. It was emphasised that NTPC has always been the frontrunner in adopting new technologies and has always ensured that vendors benefit from the progress.

NTPC's digitisation drive in procurement activities like uploading of documents by vendors and evaluation of bids and applications have made its systems more efficient, agile and transparent. Vendors were urged to adhere to the standards in quality, cost-effectiveness and timely delivery of goods to assist NTPC with supplying sustained and reliable power.

Through this Vendor Meet, NTPC aims to seek feedback from the vendors and plans to consider their opinions to improve the company's system. About 160 vendors of NTPC took part in the virtual meet.
