NLCIL’s CMD along with Directors interacts with families of injured

New Delhi: In the Thursday accident of boiler blast of NLC India Limited (NLCIL), Neyveli on Thursday, the two regular workmen and the six workmen of contractors sustained injuries in the accident. In a press release issued on Friday, the company said that all the injured workers are under special care and being treated at Kaveri Hospital, Tiruchirapalli. A team of doctors and officials from NLCIL are closely coordinating and monitoring their treatment. The families of the affected workmen are being extended all necessary support from the company.

NLCIL's Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD) Rakesh Kumar along with the functional Directors on Friday, interacted with the family members of the injured workmen and with the attending Doctors at the Hospital, through video conference from Neyveli. CMD enquired about the treatment and also about the arrangements for the attending family members. He assured them that the best possible treatment would be extended to injured workmen and that their families would be fully taken care of.

Further, in order to meet the power requirement at this critical juncture, the action is being taken on war footing to ensure that all units, other than the affected unit are operationalised at the earliest, the release added.

The Management has also sought the services of the Central Electricity Authority's (CEA) Chairman (Retd.) AS Bakshi to investigate into the incident and give his findings. 

Meanwhile, NLCIL has stepped up safety vigil in all its operating Units and other projects.
