New Delhi: Imagine meeting your favourite star or a celebrity you adore on a flight to somewhere. A woman, who came across cricketer Anil Kumble during her flight from Bangalore to Mumbai, and tweeted about it, got a lovely surprise from the cricketer that made her day. Upon seeing Kumble, the woman tweeted that the memories from the spectacular match between India and the West Indies where the legendary spinner bowled with a bandaged jaw came rushing at the moment she noticed the cricketer on the flight. “Teared up a bit. Gawwddd, I’m such a sucker for cricket memories,” she wrote on Twitter.

However, she was hesitant to go ahead and say hello to him. And she instead chose to gush about him on Twitter, reminiscing Kumble’s stunning performance. “I want to go up to @anilkumble1074 and say a ‘Thank You’ for all the joy, all the victories, all the memories. But, I am getting cold feet,” she added. But to her surprise, Kumble spotted her tweet and responded, saying: “Please feel free to come over and say hi after take off.” To this, the woman added, “OMG. OMG. Coming in a bit, Sir.”

She finally met Kumble, got his autograph on her boarding pass, and put up a picture of it on Twitter, saying, “Will have to get a boarding pass framed now. Thank you, @anilkumble1074. Someday I want to learn humility from you.” The warm gesture won hearts on the Internet and cricket fans took to Twitter to praise the former Indian team coach.
