IGL's MD ES Ranganathan gets tenure extension till June 15

New Delhi: ES Ranganathan, Managing Director of Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), has been given tenure extension on his post for a period of 15 days with effect from June 1. Earlier, his services were extended till May 31. This information has been shared by IGL in a regulatory filing to the stock exchange on Monday. He will serve as Managing Director of IGL till June 15, 2020 or till further orders, whichever is earlier, the company added.

Ranganathan has also been recommended for the post of Director (Marketing) of GAIL (India) Limited by PESB panel on March 5. He was selected for the post of Director (Marketing) of GAIL from a list of eight candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel.

Career and background

Ranganathan is an engineering graduate (BTech in Instrumentation and Control Engineering) from NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad, Kerala. He has also completed an MBA in Marketing from IGNOU. Prior to joining IGL, Ranganathan was posted as Executive Director (Corporate O&M) in GAIL (India) Limited, where he has worked for over three decades and was involved in the construction of Dahej-Vijaipur, Vijaipur-Dadri and Bawana Nangal Pipeline Projects.

Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL)

Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) is one of India's leading natural gas distribution companies. IGL supplies natural gas as cooking and vehicular fuel. The company was established in 1998 and operates primarily in the Indian state of Delhi. The company has taken over and operated the Delhi City Gas Distribution Project from Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) for laying a network of gas distribution pipelines in the Delhi. The company started as a joint venture between GAIL, Bharat Petroleum and the government of NCT of Delhi.
