DoPT Joint Secretary SD Sharma given addl. charge of Director ISTM

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal for entrustment of the additional charge of the post of Director of Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (lSTM) to SD Sharma. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), he has been given additional charge of the said post for a period of three months with effect from October 8.  He is currently serving as Joint Secretary (Training) in DoPT.

Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (ISTM)

The Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (ISTM) is a Central Training Institute for civil employees, directly managed by the Department of Personnel and Training, under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India. The Institute is headed by the Director, who is a career civil servant of the rank of Joint Secretary. The Institute was established by the Ministry of Home Affairs in 1948 with the primary objective to provide training to the officers of the Central Secretariat Service (CSS), Central Secretariat Stenographers Service (CSSS) and officers of other subsidiary services based at the Central Secretariat like Railway Board Secretariat Service.
